Types of Packages
Basic Rentals
These packages are great for milestone parties and casual gatherings. These are our base “hall rental” packages and they include:
Full access to the Lodge, Patio, Lawn, Fire Circle, Picnic Point, and the Pier
Indoor tables and chairs, set up in a standard layout
Picnic tables on the patio
Use of our full catering kitchen
Use of our basic indoor stationary speakers
Ability to book a date up to 6 months in advance
Reception Packages
These packages are designed for major events that require more time and advanced planning. Reception packages include everything in a Basic Rental, plus:
The ability to book a date up to 30 months in advance
Longer event times
2 free hours of set-up time included
Overnight Packages
Our Overnight Packages are full buy-out packages that truly make Carawood Lake special. These packages feature:
Private access for your whole party to camp on the grounds overnight
Ability to book a date up to 30 months in advance
Ample time for set-up/rehearsals the day before and relaxed clean-up the day after an event.
The ability to host a Rehearsal Dinner or Farewell Brunch
Pricing
Our Core Packages define when you have access to the space. All core packages include tables and chairs, plus use of our indoor and outdoor spaces.
Our prices vary based on the day of the week, time of year, and how far in advance you book your date. Payment plans are available for all of our core packages.
Multi-Day Core Packages
These packages give you access to our spaces over multiple days, which can be used for set-up, rehearsals, clean-up, multiple gatherings, and/or camping. (Note, camping is only available for dates in May through October.)
These are great packages for weddings and large family reunions!
Single-Day Core Packages
These packages are for single-day events. All set-up and clean-up must occur during the rental reservation. Payment plans are available for all packages.
The Classic Wedding Package Add-on
$800
This package can be added to any of our Overnight or Reception Core Packages. (It is not available for Basic Packages). It is designed for weddings, but can be used for any type of gathering, and features all of our most popular à la carte items, including:
Up to 10 decorated guest tables, with a floor length tablecloth (white or black), up to 10 chairs with chair covers (white or black), and free use of centerpiece items from our Something Borrowed Closet, all set-up and cleaned up by our staff
Up to 6 floor length tablecloths (white or black), pressed, and set-up for you on your service tables (eg, food tables, cards & gifts, etc.)
Ceiling drapes
Professional-grade AV equipment: 2 portable speakers and microphones
Uplighting
Photobooth
Yard games
Ceremony seating set-up
Altar set-up
A la carte items available for add-on
Tablecloths* ($20/table, choice of white or black)
Decorated tables* ($50/each)

Pricing Transparency
We pride ourselves on fair and transparent pricing - we have no required bar or catering packages, guest count minimums, or hidden “service fees”.
Our only “extras” include:
Host liability insurance if you are serving alcohol (see below)
“You break it, you buy it” policy: You will be charged a replacement/repair fee for damaged and missing items following the event. This policy requires we have a credit card on file prior to the event, but if there’s nothing damaged or missing you will not be charged anything. And, we’ll always give you a chance to find a missing item that may have been accidently packed in with your decorations before charging a replacement fee!
Host Liability Insurance
In the event that a guest at your event causes significant injury to another person or damage to property, you could be held liable for some pretty big sums of money. In these circumstances, Host Liability insurance is what covers you. We require it for events serving alcohol, but it’s a good idea for all events, even if your event is alcohol-free.
This insurance can be purchased through any vendor you chose (and can often be added to a Home Owner’s insurance policy for a small fee), but common choices include eWed Insurance and The Event Helper. Depending on the type of insurance you select and the size of your party, the cost typically ranges from $75-$150.
We will need a copy of your Certificate of Insurance, listing Carawood Lake as an additional insured, at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
Payment Policies
Deposits
We require you to pay the first 20% of your core package as a non-refundable retainer to “purchase” your date. The remaining 80% of your core package price and any add-ons are refundable up until your final payment due date.
Payment due dates
For packages that cost $500 or less, your full balance is due 7 days prior to your event.
For packages that cost $501 to $999, your full balance is due 30 days prior to your event.
For packages that cost $1,000 or more, your full balance is due 90 days prior to your event (or upon booking, if booked within 90 days).
Payment plans
We can set-up custom payment plans at 0% interest, with payments every 4 weeks, designed to pay off your balance by your due date. There is no penalty for early or late installment payments, so long as your entire balance is paid off by the final due date.
Acceptable payment methods
We use Square to send Invoices and collect payments online, using Debit or credit cards, ACH bank transfers. We also accept cash or check.
We offer a 1.5% discount when paying via ACH bank transfer or check.
Cancellations & Refunds
Before Payment Due Date
Get your maximum refund for any cancellation made before your final payment due date. The maximum refund is your full package price minus the non-refundable 20% booking retainer.
After Payment Due Date
Packages $500 or Less (Payment due 7 days before event)
Cancellation 4-7 days before event: 50% refund
Cancellation 1-3 days before event: 25% refund
Cancellation day of event or no-show: No refund
Packages $500 to $999 (Payment due 30 days before event)
Cancellation 15-30 days before event: 50% refund
Cancellation 8-14 days before event: 25% refund
Cancellation within 7 days of event or no-show: No refund
Packages Over $1,000 (Payment due 90 days before event)
Cancellation 60-90 days before event: 50% refund
Cancellation 30-59 days before event: 25% refund
Cancellation within 30 days of event or no-show: No refund
Credit System
We recognize that in many cases, guests pay for their own lodging when they attend a wedding or major event.
For this reason, we have an optional way for guests to directly reserve and pay for their own site (cabin, RV, or tent), and then we’ll apply a credit to the Host’s account, reducing the overall price of the Overnight Package for the hosts.
